I had to stop and pinch myself. Really, the GREAT WALL?

After a long trip of seeing God at work in Asia, we had a 14 hour layover in China and decided to see if we would be able to leave the airport. On our trip over to Asia at the begining we were told that we needed to have a visa that would cost 150 a person in order to leave the airport. (sound like the movie "the Terminal"). So when we return thru Beijing, Dan thought lets give it another try and so he went up to a counter and asked if there was a waver as we were there less than 24 hours. BINGO! Anthony (our teammate) also went up to double check the lady would say the same thing. To our surprise we were able to leave. Once out the gate, we realized we had no idea what we were gong to do, or how we were going to get there. That's when we saw a tourist area by the luggage, and they said we could hire a driver for 4-8 hours to drive us around, and show us what we wanted to see. We all pulled our money and decided it was worth it to have the chance to go and see China. So we hired a driver for 8 hours who spot no English. We were conversing with the lady via the drivers phone when we wanted to go somewhere else. We were acting in faith that we were ok. WE WERE!!!!

We went to see The Great Wall (which was 2 hours from the airport) and the forbidden city. 

We got back about 4 hours till our flight left, and were able to relish the fact we made it back to the airport, and safely. SWEET!!!

Our Cadence Student Ministries Europe Team

This week we have had the amazing chance to have a week with our friends, family and co-workers here in Germany. We were in Eschwege Germany. We had a speaker that came in, and also said goodbye to three people who were leaving the mission. That was a super sad time, but also a great time to celebrate what the Lord has done in and thru them.
Dan and I also celebrated our 10 (well Dan) year mark with Cadence. We got a great letter sharing words of life to both of us.

Tuesday we leave for Japan, and Korea. We are super excited to see what God is going to do while we are there. WE are also excited to serve the other CSM missionaries and Cadence Missionaries there. We will be gone till the 24th of May. Please join us in prayer for this time.

Dan and I are also going to the states this summer for raise some support that we need. We are about 2000/month down on support.  Can't wait to see what God does!

Pray for those that serve

Its that time again that breaks hearts when families hearts get torn into pieces as loved ones are split apart. Please be in prayer for those that serve, and families.  This is staging for what is to come. Pray also that Dan and I will be ministering vessels during this time! Please Lord, use us!

The Journey

A dear friend talked with us on friday about his journeys thru the be-attitudes. Blessed are you, that when trials of various kinds come, you are blessed regardless cause I am with you. When Jeff was sharing what I heard the Lord whisper in my heart, "Becke, blessed are you if you never have children".

Of course I wanted to jump on the floor and throw a temper tantrum like a 2 year old kicking and screaming, but in a strange way, I felt peace. A peace only the Lord could give.  The last few days have been filled with ups and downs, and wondering how the Lord would work in our current situation.
We have heard the Lord speak so clearly on saturday that it gave us tremendous peace about what God was doing.

I am amazed at the thought that the God of this universe chooses to speak to me, and thru me sometimes. Who am I that He loves me so.... I am so blown away that someone would know Everything little thing about me, and love me because I am His own. Wow! AMAZING LOVE INDEED!

A holy experience

Some friends of mine found this great blog website.
How often do we stop and smell roses, and for that matter dwell on the beauty of roses.
But its more than that, its about stopping to process life and to see really where beauty comes from.
So often I race through my day on to the next thing all in the name of ministry and really miss out on stopping to praise God for the God moments throughout the day.
God moment today, give and it will come back to you, pressed down shaken together and running over.
We had the great honor of hosting some folks for the past few nights at our house. They were such a lovely family and were a joy to have here. There were many moments that I felt like I was in the presence of the Lord. Rather it was a connection on the soul level of Christians coming together.

Anyhow, after they left, the Lord used them to give back. What an honor and great blessing to serve the Lord. Thank you Lord for communicating to me, and thank you for loving a broken vessel.

ESCAPE 2012

This past weekend, we took 36 people on a retreat to Bitburg! Marvels was the theme, and we talked about the Marvels of God. We had 4 people gave there life to the Lord. We also had an athiest who came, and she now believes God is real, and exists. Praise the Lord.

One of my favorite stories is on the last day we were walking back from program and V and I were talking. I asked her what she thought. She told me worship was amazing, and that she was moved to tears. She began sharing how she knew that the Lord was there.  When she was singing, she told me that her handed just raised and she knew that God was there. I began to share with her, that she touched the Lord's feet, that she experienced the power of the Holy Spirit. I also shared that throughout her life, if someone tells you otherwise that God is not alive, you can look back at this moment and remember you experienced the Lord.

HS group!

This is our HS youth group. This year has been such a blessing to us. We have students eagerly wanting to know God, wanting to grow, and wanting to go into ministry. Amazing!

Thank you Jesus for allowing us the great honor of loving these students and many more who are not pictured. Please use us Lord in there lives. Help us to be real, and live a life that glorifies you above all.

The sad part of this photo is that in a month a few of them will have already moved, and in a few more months more will go. This is the hard part of what we do. Each time a student moves my heart is torn and broken. I don't know how people function in this environment without the comfort of the Lord.
Each year our youth groups change, and the dynamics change. Thats challenging in an of itself of what a great honor to share the love of God to so many who have passed through these doors. Thank you Jesus for each life that has passed through the doors of the youth house, and the previous youth house. May this building be a safe house where people come and feel loved, and accepted!
